What we record, and what we never do.
We record which pages you read so we know which of our guides actually help people. It is one cookie, set by our own server, and it never leaves us. We run no third party trackers, we sell and share nothing, and we never store your IP address.
What we record when you browse
A visitor id in one cookie
On your first visit our server sets a cookie named dl_vid holding a random id. It is not your name, your email or your device id. It lets us see that the same person read three of our guides before getting in touch, rather than counting that person as three strangers.
The cookie lasts 400 days and is marked HttpOnly, which means no script on the page can read it, including any script we might ever add.
Pages, and where you arrived from
The path you opened, the time, and the referring site or campaign that sent you. We keep the country your connection resolves to, from our hosting provider, and whether you are on a phone, tablet or desktop.
We do this on our own server, so it works whether or not you block trackers, and it means there is no third party script on this site collecting anything at all.
WhatsApp clicks
When you tap a WhatsApp button we record the click and put a short reference code into the message we prepare for you. The code tells our team which page you were reading, so the person who answers already has your context. You can delete the code before sending. Nothing breaks if you do.
Your quiz answers, if you choose to send them
Name, contact details and the answers you gave. That is information you typed and chose to send us. It exists so a real person can help you, and it is the only place your email is stored in a readable form.
What we never do
- We never sell or share your information. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
- We run no third party pixel or tracker on this site. No advertising tag is watching you here.
- We never store your IP address. We read the country your connection resolves to and discard the rest.
- We never send your details to a clinic without telling you. Your case goes to our network for quotes with your name and contact details removed until you choose a clinic.
- We do not use your information to make a medical decision. Clinical questions are answered by the dentist treating you.
Your control over it
Delete the cookie any time
Clearing site data in your browser removes dl_vid. Nothing on this site stops working, and your next visit simply starts a fresh, unlinked id.
Ask us to delete your record
Message us and we will delete what we hold about you, including anything you sent through the quiz. We do not require a reason and we will confirm when it is done.
