An implant has to heal into the bone before the final teeth go on. That gap is real, it is usually 3 to 6 months, and it means most implant patients fly to Vietnam twice. Crowns, veneers and whitening are usually one visit. We say this up front because it changes the cost of the whole thing.

Why the gap exists
An implant is a post placed in the jaw. The bone has to grow around it and hold it before it can carry a crown or a full arch. That process takes months, not days, and rushing it is the thing a good clinic will not do for you regardless of how your flights are booked.
This is not a Vietnam thing. The same gap exists in Sydney, Melbourne, London and New York. The difference is that at home you drive back to the clinic and here you book a second flight, which is why we put both trips in front of you before you book either.
What is in your mouth in between
Temporary teeth are part of most implant plans, and they should appear as a named line in the written quote rather than as a verbal reassurance. Exactly what you have, and for how long, is a clinical decision your dentist makes on your case. We are not dentists and we will not guess it for you, but we will make sure it is written down before you fly.
Ask the clinic directly: what will I have in my mouth after trip one, from which day, and what can I eat with it. Any clinic that treats international patients answers that question every week.
What it does to the total
Two trips means two sets of flights and two stays, and that is a real number that belongs in your comparison. It is also the number most price pages leave out.

How to plan the two trips
- Get the plan before the flights. Your quote states the appointments and their spacing, so you book flights around real dates rather than a guess.
- Price trip two before trip one. A plan for the second trip exists before the first, so the total including travel is in front of you from day one.
- Book the return with room in it. Lab days and healing days are part of the schedule, not padding. Leaving the day after the last appointment removes your margin for an adjustment.
- Tell us the flight number. The moment you send it, the pickup is booked, on both trips.
- Keep the same clinic. The dentist who placed the implants finishes the work, and the warranty sits with that clinic.
Which treatments are one visit
Crowns, veneers and whitening are usually one visit, made up of several appointments across days with laboratory time in the middle. If your plan is only crowns or only veneers, you are planning one trip, not two.
If your plan mixes implants with other work, the implant timeline governs the trip structure, because the implant is the part that has to heal.

Can it be done in one trip?
That is a clinical question for your dentist on your scan, not a scheduling preference, and we will not promise you an answer to it. What we will do is put the question to the clinics when we present your case, so the written plans that come back address it directly rather than leaving you to assume.
Is the second trip to the same clinic?
Yes. The dentist who placed the implants finishes the work and the warranty sits with that clinic. Where you spend the rest of the second trip is entirely up to you, and travel between cities is arranged on request through Concierge Link.
What happens during the months in between?
